Our Story
A Living Tradition
Since opening its carved wooden doors in 2011, Vila Cofiel has been the heart of Korce's dining scene. Four rooms, each decorated in 19th-century Albanian style, welcome guests into a world where the past is alive — not preserved behind glass, but breathing in every tapestry, every hand-forged candle holder, every crack in the fireplace stone.
The working fireplace anchors the main hall, casting its glow across tables where locals share stories and travelers discover what Albanian hospitality truly means. On Friday evenings and weekends, the rooms fill with serenata korcare — live traditional music that has echoed through these streets for generations.
Every guest is greeted with a complimentary glass of our homemade baked raki — raki i zier — prepared from a recipe passed down through generations. It is more than a drink; it is an invitation to slow down, sit awhile, and let the warmth seep in.
From the braised osso bucco that has become our signature to the cheese burrek drizzled with honey, each dish on our menu tells a story of Albanian culinary tradition, prepared with care and served with pride.
